This project encompasses the comprehensive design of the common areas for Olivos, a residential development within Palo Alto Marbella. Situated in the hills overlooking the city, this luxury complex offers uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean and a setting surrounded by nature, which serve as the perfect backdrop for this space.
The design reinterprets the concept of Mediterranean luxury. Within it, we discover a sophistication grounded in natural light and noble materials, where the use of symmetry, a studied composition of elements, and high-quality pieces convey an atmosphere of refined elegance.
The program integrates a gym, a multi-purpose room, and—as the heart of the project—a cozy café lounge. A main corridor acts as the spine of the layout, creating a visual composition through ceramic lattice screens (celosías) that provide privacy to the rooms while filtering natural light into the interior. Conceived as an open-plan space integrating living, dining, and kitchen areas, the café lounge evokes the warmth and calm of a private home. Its large windows frame the impressive sea views, seamlessly connecting the interior with the surrounding nature.
The project is rich in textures and colors that flow harmoniously through the different spaces. Materials such as raffia, wood, and ceramic convey warmth through brown and terracotta tones. Meanwhile, greens and petrol blues—present in both the furniture and vegetation—bring freshness and link the design to the outdoor landscape. This visual richness is reinforced by carefully studied indirect lighting, integrated into architectural coves and bespoke joinery, which accentuates the textures and enlivens the colors within the space. The intervention is completed with a curated selection of exclusive design furniture that does not compromise on functionality, alongside decorative lamps that lend a unique character to every corner without altering the elegance and serenity that define the project’s atmosphere.
