Originally designed by the prestigious Australian studio SJB, this project was developed within the Lord Designs studio to be realised on the Marbella coast. Its on-site technical adaptation called for meticulous attention to detail: Gema Guzmán Espejo led the technical direction and construction management, an architect also heading her own studio, guze, translating the international design into millimetre-precise execution at every junction.
This is a project of purist, minimalist aesthetics, set within an exclusive residential development of traditional Andalusian architecture. A haven of serenity that frames breathtaking sea views, surrounded by the lush vegetation of Mediterranean pine groves.
The design stands out for the continuity of its finishes in soft, neutral tones, with Neolith's Strata Argentum taking centre stage. This material fully clads the indoor and outdoor flooring as well as the bathroom walls: large-format slabs, 6 mm thick and mesh-reinforced — a deliberate choice to keep joints to a minimum and achieve a monolithic effect. The same material also shapes the washbasins, sideboards, kitchen and outdoor barbecue.
The interior joinery consists of floor-to-ceiling panelling and doors, lacquered in white, that blend seamlessly into the walls and ceilings. Timber-slat cladding, stained to echo the tone of the flooring, serves as a backdrop and brings warmth to the living-dining room. The contrast lives in the details: the Gessi Inciso taps in a gunmetal finish, JUNG's flush-fitting LS ZERO switches and the smoked grey glass partitions. In the main bathroom, one of them becomes a wall that connects with the bedroom, letting the exterior views reach the bathroom through it.
The lighting design, developed in collaboration with GLC Lighting, subtly emphasises the interior architecture. It combines the near-invisible Nulla recessed spotlights by Davide Groppi with the technical precision of Lluria LED strips, applied both directly and within coves. In the day area, a recessed track in contrasting black by Delta Light links the kitchen and living areas, marking an axis that reinforces the project's concept of geometric precision. In a décor that is equally minimalist, the linen curtains act as movable panels that filter the sunlight. The main furniture blends into the architecture, following the same colour palette, while the accent of colour comes from the accessories: rugs and cushions in the outdoor area.
